Home for mentally challenged children and youth is perhaps a one of its kind institution in the world. Since its foundation, as a non-profit social affairs organization,
Home functions as the nerve centre of various co-related activities; focusing on the development, education, training and rehabilitation of the mentally challenged youth and
children. It follows the principle that each and every human being by his or her very existence has a right to live. Just as a normal human cannot develop if there were not
multiple sensory inputs which together bring about growth so too can the mentally challenged become "developed" human beings when they are provided multiple developmental
environments. Home promotes progressive policies, scientific research, effective practices, and universal human rights for people with intellectual disabilities.
One paragraph is not enough to describe Home and its activities, however one thing stands clear. Cohesion. In all its background and history, in all its activities,
in all its research and developmental efforts, in its various programs, Home accomplished that mentally challenged are treated in society as useful and productive citizens.
Unfortunately, the mentally challenged have been traditionally relegated towards the darker corners of human mind and society.
